Calling all passionate Connecticut dietitians!
Nominations are now being accepted for the following 2025-2026 CT affiliate board positions:
- President-Elect
- Secretary
- Member-At-Large
- Meeting/Conference Chair-Elect
- Nominating Committee (2 members and a chair-elect)
Do you or someone you know have special talents, interests, or leadership qualities that should be shared? Are interested in developing new skills or broadening a professional network? Consider the following points that make each of these positions so rewarding:
- President-Elect: A great opportunity to meet, lead, and share the work of dietitians and dietetic technicians across the state and beyond! The President-Elect is provided training by the Academy and has a full year to shadow and learn from the current president before serving a term as President. After that, as Past-President you continue your leadership progress by guiding those who follow in your footsteps.
- Secretary: Do you have (or want to develop) great listening and organization skills? The Secretary serves for two years and records and files the minutes of all Executive Committee and Board meetings. This position is also a way to learn about our affiliate’s activities and network with our leaders.
- Member-At-Large: This is our affiliate’s “collaborator.” The Member-At-Large serves as a liaison to special interest groups throughout CT. You will participate in meetings and projects to share the ways dietitians and dietetic technicians improve the health and well-being of our state residents. The Member-At-Large is a two-year position.
- Meeting/Conference Chair-Elect: Are you interested in becoming a party planner with a purpose? Learn how to coordinate our main annual event with engaging speakers and activities. Then after a year of training, you’ll be more than ready to lead the planning of our annual meeting!
Nominating Committee: Work with a team to find our affiliate’s “diamonds in the rough” – those with the potential to help our profession continue to shine! You will meet other members, develop your own networking confidence, and help encourage leadership in the organization. There are 3 positions, 2 will be members and the 3rd person with the highest number of votes will become Chair-elect.
As an added incentive…
Did you know that you can receive CPEUs by holding an elected or appointed office in dietetics or dietetics-related national or state organizations? Earn 3 CPEUs per each year served (a maximum of 15 CPEUS for 5 years for RDNs).
